Who Am I?

I started out calmly, tracking my tree
To see if I could find the makings of me
And all that I had was Great Grandfather's name
Not knowing his wife or from whence he came.
I chased him across a long line of states
And came up with pages and pages of dates.
When all put together, it made me forlorn
As poor old Great Grandpa had never been born.
I looked up the record of one Uncle John
Then found the old man to be younger than his son.
The facts I collected made me quite sad
As dear old Great Grandfather was never a dad.
It seems that someone was pulling my leg
I'm not at all sure I wasn't hatched from an egg.
After hundreds of dollars I've spent on my tree
I can't help but wonder if I'm really me.

NB. Listen to Maritime Noon on CBC on Tuesday, May 8th : Call genealogist Terry Punch for help researching your family tree.

Spring has Sprung...

The temperature hit 14 in Truro today (April 20) and it felt great. I started my walking program in Victoria Park. I have a 3.5 km route with a few hills. The first hill was a bitch today but it will only get better. I was huffing & puffing at the top of that hill. The Park was alive with people and the Vibert Fitness Trail was filled with the sound of birds chirping, squirrels scurrying around, and lots of walkers with dogs. I took some pictures & some shaky video with my still camera so enjoy the scenery. I even took one of myself using the timer on the camera. I was walking as I took the video so you may want to take a gravol before you watch. The music is Ronan Keating...Life is a Rollercoaster.

See video under Others in Video section.
