The landscape & terrain have changed dramatically almost impassible in some places with bogs and barriers put in by the company that built the 7 turbines that now provide 2-3 megawatts each. That is enough power to keep 6500 homes with electricity. <br /><br />Here is my video showing my walk to Lingan Head on July 17, 2007. He is going to Waterford to visit with Malcie & then they are traveling to Cheticamp on Tuesday.<br /><br />The concert was good not great--best of East Coast music was there--Bruce Guthro,J.P. We play three sets and rotate partners after each set so it is not too competitive. Great exercise..are you listening John & Malcie. It costs $125.00 for a membership and that includes free lessons. I also play in a Team Tennis League on Tuesday evenings where I play with 4 other people in a Mixed tennis competition. It is more recreational.<br /><br />I play from 9:00-10:30 am and then go up into Victoria Park which is just around the corner from the Tennis Club for my  3km walk. I still have it, albeit a bit slower on the base paths.<br />There were four teams competing: CEC, Bible Hill Jr., Hants North and my old school -Truro Junior. CEC won with a 3-0 record. We were 0-3. I started my walking program in Victoria Park. I have a 3.5 km route with a few hills. The first hill was a bitch today but it will only get better. I was huffing & puffing at the top of that hill. The Park was alive with people and the Vibert Fitness Trail was filled with the sound of birds chirping, squirrels scurrying around, and lots of walkers with dogs. I took some pictures & some shaky video with my still camera so enjoy the scenery. I even took one of myself using the timer on the camera. I was walking as I took the video so you may want to take  a gravol before you watch. Cameras were not allowed as they put you in groups of 10 & two guides made sure of it. It was interesting to say the least. Too much paranoia by them considering the Cold War has been over for a few decades. The bunker was built between 1959-63. The Debert facility would be the only such complex built in the </span><span style="font-size:12px; color:#002cb7; ">Maritime provinces</a></span><span style="font-size:12px; ">.<br />A small part of Camp Debert was proposed to be used for the complex along with supporting surface structures and personnel housing. Construction began in </span><span style="font-size:12px; color:#002cb7; ">1960</a></span><span style="font-size:12px; "> on an underground 2-storey (although there are rumors of a third flooded floor) bunker capable of withstanding a near-hit from a </span><span style="font-size:12px; color:#002cb7; ">nuclear explosion</a></span><span style="font-size:12px; ">. The underground building had massive blast doors at the surface, as well as extensive air filters to prevent radiation infiltration. Underground storage was built for food, fuel, fresh water, and other supplies for the facility which was capable of supporting several dozen people for weeks. These facilities, nicknamed "</span><span style="font-size:12px; color:#002cb7; ">Diefenbunkers</a></span><span style="font-size:12px; ">", were administered by the Canadian Corps of Signals.<br />Opening in </span><span style="font-size:12px; color:#002cb7; ">1964</a></span><span style="font-size:12px; ">, the Debert facility was already dated, since ICBM targeting had improved to the point where a direct hit was possible on the bunker, however it persisted as a Provincial Warning Centre (for Nova Scotia), staffed by the 720 Communication Squadron, along with the space for the emergency government.
